The 23-mile Groundhog Mountain Loop begins at Willis Gap and loops close to the North Carolina border. The highlight of the route is Squirrel Spur Road, a six-mile section that contains 58 curves. In addition to passing through the town of Ararat, this loop brings riders close to J.E.B. Stuart’s Birthplace.
